Lester Young, tenor saxophone; Buck Clayton, trumpet; Dickie Wells, trombone; Count Basie, piano; Freddy Green, guitar; Walter Page, bass; Jo Jones, drums.

Lester Youngs lyric sound did not make it in Fletcher Hendersons band after Coleman Hawkins left. But it was a match made in heaven when he joined Basie. Young is considered the first of the modern saxophonists with his fluid technique and lyric sense of melody. This is a riff arrangement, and all the interest lives in the brilliant solo work of both Young and Basie.
